FAM Lifis.2 fruit and vegetable slicer

The FAM Lifis.2 is used for slicing leafy vegetables — in particular all types of lettuce, elongated vegetables such as rhubarb, leek and celery, and firm round vegetables such as cabbage heads — with a throughput of up to 9000 kg/h. Various cut sizes are possible, from 2 to 38 mm and up to 80 mm for leafy vegetables.

The machine handles product up to 180 mm in diameter for firm product and up to 220 mm in the case of leafy product.

A set of long V-shaped conveyor belts results in improved product alignment and prevents the product from tumbling whilst being fed to the cutting wheel, without being crushed by any hold-down belt.

Variable speed drives for both slicing wheel and conveyor belts offer speed control and flexibility, producing many different cutting sizes. A discharge chute gently decelerates the cut product, minimising product damage. Its sloped surfaces prevent accumulation of product residue.

The design of the conveyor belts, side covers and open V-belt section results in accessibility and efficiency in maintenance and cleaning. Sealed bearings minimise maintenance and improve performance.

The control cabinet has eight pre-settings for the speed of the belts and cutting wheel. Both can be programmed manually to suit processing room requirements.

A trapped key interlocking safety system prevents access to the cutting area during machine operation.
