Weigh/label system

  • Modular design
  • Touch screen HEC (Harsh Environment Computer)
  • Various printer options both in performance and brand
  • Manual carton weigh station
  • Auto carton weigh system
  • Auto-print and apply applicator options (singles board computer with PLC)

The design of Cedar Creek's innovative Weigh/Label Systems is modular, based on the Cedar Creek Company (CCC) WLS software module, and comprising: a Touchscreen Unit; a scale base/indicator unit; an Industrial printer (for manual labelling) or a fully automatic label applicator with a higher spec printer. All Touchscreen computers and printers are visible on the network, enabling product specifications, label formats, and order data to be downloaded simply and quickly and production data to be made available enterprise-wide in 'near real time'.

The WLS is comprised of several discrete hardware modules, which can be deployed as required, allowing maximum flexibility and efficiency in the production of both cuts and cartons. The manual WLS stations can be used in any of three modes: (i) cut piece mode; (ii) carton mode; or (iii) mixed mode, in which the same station weighs and labels each individual piece into a carton, then aggregates the piece data and produces a carton label.

This WLS design, while deceptively simple, is reliant on CCC's modular software design, using modules from CCC's powerful Production Management & Control System. The software modules required to maximise the effectiveness of the WLS as part of the overall boning room system when deployed enterprise-wide are: Product Control System (PCS), Boning Room Infeed (BRI),Yield & Recovery Analysis (YRA), plus the Weigh/Label System itself.

The WLS software includes comprehensive functionalities covering every aspect of cut and carton data collection, labelling and control. One feature is its handling of part cartons, for which all product is recorded against production for the relevant batches/shifts (ensuring accurate yields), with all sets of product data then recorded against the carton ID and on the carton label (ensuring full traceability).

Orders may be controlled across multiple stations and labels generated in a variety of formats including barcodes and foreign text such as Arabic, Japanese and Chinese.

Modular components available separately.
