The Visy Enviropunnet labelling system is a bespoke automated labelling system designed for locally made cardboard punnets for fresh produce.
The overclose labelling system is designed to secure produce inside the punnet with cardboard flaps and a paper label. The system removes the need for plastic film or wrap, while still protecting fresh produce, and the packaging is kerbside recyclable after use.
Designed to fit within existing packing lines, the labelling system creates a simple transition from flow wrapping to labelling without additional conveyors. It uses food-safe adhesives, can include adhesive-free areas to prevent contact with exposed produce, optional date coding and custom printing.
The labelling system can be used with a range of sizes, including: 1 kg punnet for apples, pears, stone fruits, tomatoes; 750 g punnet for pears, stone fruits, tomatoes; and 500 g to 1 kg tray pack for apples.
