SpeedStar applicator heads

The electro-mechanically driven SpeedStar applicator heads have short switching cycles combined with a high wear resistance, enabling numerous applications in fast processes where small and precise dots of adhesive are required. Their patented sealing mechanism enables the heads to have a longer life expectancy than conventional systems.

The shut-off needle is opened and closed by means of a lever mechanism. The stroke of the shut-off needle is monitored and readjusted automatically. Viscosity of up to 5000 mPa has little influence on switching behaviour. The repetition accuracy is high, ensuring long-term accurate dot size and position.

The proven plastic housings of the SX Diamond series are also used for the SpeedStar applicator heads. The heads offer energy savings and good protection against contact, as well as heat encapsulation and nozzle protection.

The integrated electronics serve to control and monitor the entire function of the applicator heads. This principle allows the SpeedStar applicator heads to be activated with 24 VDC without a switching amplifier, the stroke of the shut-off needle to be adjusted automatically and the number of switching operations to be counted.

The heads are fast - up to 800 cycles/s - and durable, lasting more than 250 million cycles. They are also silent, emitting just 35 dBA, and contain no pneumatic elements.
