Pac Food’s Lined Sugarcane (LSC) Trays have now gained recyclability approval following assessment by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO).
Built for performance and end-of-life recovery, the trays are made from virgin natural sugarcane pulp and are available with CPET, CPET/EVOH and PP/EVOH linings.
The recyclability approval confirms that the lined sugarcane trays can be classified as ‘Recyclable’ within the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) Program provided all other applicable recyclability thresholds are met.
All Pac Food Lined Sugarcane Trays meet APCO’s recyclability criteria with the lining still attached.
The trays now provide two potential end-of-life pathways. The tray can be placed in the recycling bin with the lining still attached, in accordance with applicable recycling guidance. Alternatively, once the lining has been removed, the sugarcane fibre tray can be composted. This flexibility makes it suitable for food manufacturers, caterers, meal preparation businesses and other commercial food operations looking for packaging that combines performance with more responsible end-of-life options.
The trays combine renewable sugarcane fibre with functional food-safe linings, providing the performance required for modern food packaging while meeting APCO’s recyclability criteria.
