OCME’s Altair Wrap Around Case Packers are custom designed and can pack a variety of container sizes and shapes with speeds ranging from 30 to 100 cases per minute.

The container infeed is fundamental to the machine, with profiled guides that have been specifically designed for each container shape, flow regulation systems that ensure smooth linear stops and starts, and a channelising bridge that is only activated when a blockage occurs. The machine has a capacity for 900 carton blanks and is placed to ensure the safety of the operator.

The machine uses mechanical devices to close the side and upper flaps of the cartons, providing a quality finished case, with a minimal amount of glue usage. The glue jets are strategically placed in a perpendicular position in respect to the jet’s point of impact. According to the company, this feature is superior to other machines on the market that suffer poor sealing of the flaps or excessive concentrated use of glue.

The machine can handle both traditional and preformed partitions insertion, which ensures increased resistance against knocks or mishandling, which is important for products that are exported or transported over long distances by road.

The case packer can handle a variety of packaging options such as: internal flap; top opening; tear-strip opening; pack with carry handle; open-top case; external flap; assisted opening; partition insertion; and tray.
