BEVkeg from Krones and Micro Matic is an all-inclusive system for the non-returnable PET beverage keg market. It also incorporates the matching, gas-free BEVmate tapping equipment. The package is intended primarily for breweries, but will also be suitable for the soft drinks market.

The system’s core component is the 20 L container made of PET with a petaloid base. It is self-supporting and does not require any secondary packaging.

It is supplied with a screw cap, a human-engineered handle and a disposable beverage line in a hygienic blisterpack. A range of options is available for individualised labelling.

The second core component is the patented BEVmate tapping system, which operates with mechanical pressure. According to the company, the principle is simple and safe. When emptied, the container rolls itself up inwards, resulting in good beverage quality without tapping losses.

KIC Krones is the central customer interface for supplying the 20 L container unit. Depending on the rating class involved, the container is transported to the filling company either as a preform or as a compressed unit. The closure, handle and disposable beverage line components are supplied with it.

The brewery or the filling company fills and labels the containers, and loads them onto pallets. The machinery and technology required is supplied by Krones; the BEVmate tapping system is delivered to the brewery or the catering facility by Micro Matic.
