Fujifilm UV light amount distribution measurement film

Fujifilm has launched three types of UVSCALE, a UV light amount distribution measurement film that visualises light amount distribution of a broad range of UV lights of 4000-6000 mJ/cm2 using the colour optical density of the film.

The film is suitable for use in production processes which use UV lights, such as attachment of touch panels and the sterilisation of food packaging materials.

According to the company, the product negates the use of a traditional illuminometer, which can only measure the amount of single points of UV light.

The film, in which colour optical density changes according to the accumulated amount of UV light, is said to enable the user to visually determine whether the entire surface of the object has been equally irradiated with UV light. This can shorten inspection time, thereby improving work efficiency.

In addition, the flexible, thin film can be cut into a desired shape or length and be placed on the static or moving subject to measure UV light distribution. This enables the amount of UV light on curved areas to be measured.

The product can also be used during the process of stiffening UV printing ink and coating agents to prevent reflection and damage.
