Cryovac BDF whole bird film packaging

Cryovac BDF whole bird’s puncture-resistant, leak-proof packaging ensures that supermarket shelves and shoppers’ hands stay sanitary. The barrier shrink film and hermetic seals are claimed to be able to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination by Salmonella, Campylobacter and other microorganisms to other goods. Modified atmosphere trapped in the pack is also claimed to extend the shelf life of the poultry.

The 25 µm thin, multilayer, polyolefin, fully coextruded shrink film with modified atmosphere provides gas and aroma barrier properties. Highly versatile, it can be used with lightweight polystyrene, cardboard or rigid trays of many sizes and colours - or no tray, which results in packaging weight reductions. The film has a clear, anti-fog, glossy look and is also fully printable and features drip-proof seals.

The film is designed for a range of horizontal form fill seal systems, which can handle quick format changes and run at speeds of up to 50 packs/min.
