Cold and aseptic fill closures

Silgan White Cap Europe/Asia has introduced a new closure into its advanced Plastic-Twist range. The 38 mm CVT Plasti-Twist has been designed for cold and aseptic fill applications such as juices, health drinks, iced tea, fresh milk and milk drinks.

The linerless closure is compression moulded in polyethylene and features a tamper-evident band. It is suitable for use with PET, PP and HDPE bottles.

A special triple-seal function provides three contact sealing areas for the closure and the container - top, inner and outer - ensuring a hermetic, airtight seal.

Other features include pull-up controls that correspond to controls on PET bottles for immediate non-destructive visual checks of good closure application, which helps to maximise production line efficiencies.

The matt (as opposed to gloss) surface finish provides enhanced printing opportunities for additional branding and personalisation of the closure.

The intense development process for the 38CVT included extensive secured seal testing and opening performance testing to create a closure that meets the safety requirements of today’s consumer. Pack integrity before opening is assured since the closure is able to hold a pressure well above 2.08 bar until after the tamper band breaks.
