New pack format for baby food
Yummy Organics baby food from Initiative Foods has installed a packing line of 120 and 130 mL multilayer PP cups, to develop the growing e-commerce market for its products. The packs’ integrity and resistance to breakage can provide consumer safety benefits. The multilayer barrier technology preserves the freshness of the product, while the product’s ability to be nested makes it easy to transport. Thermoformed in PP/EVOH/PP, the packs are retortable and can also be hot-filled.
Bebo Bouxwiller and Bebo Plastik produce the cups and the lids respectively, with the project coordinated by Bramlage Morgantown in America; the plastics are supplied to US distributor TricorBraun from Bramlage Morgantown.
The deal demonstrates the potential of inter-divisional cooperation in providing packaging solutions in line with customer requirements. Converting from glass to plastic packaging in large markets such as baby foods allows the company to support e-commerce trade opportunities while providing consumer convenience and safety.
