Visy signs licensing and technology agreement

Visy has entered into an official licensing and technology agreement with Graham Packaging Company.The broad-based licence and technology agreement will provide Visy with access to Graham Packaging's plastics packaging technology, design and manufacture.

"Our customers will benefit enormously from this agreement. As just a few examples of what this partnership will provide, we expect longer shelf life aseptic packaging for dairy products, greatly improved wine and beer packaging in PET, packaging weight reductions and new barrier packaging technologies for a diverse range of food and beverage packaging applications," Visy chief executive officer Harry Debney said.

The licence agreement gives Visy the rights to use Graham Packaging proprietary olefin and PET technology for the manufacture and design of preforms, bottles and other articles for food and beverage, consumer and household packaging in Australia and New Zealand.
