Bosch Rexroth's latest version of its Variflow conveyor provides a system for channelling product between machines in food processing and food packaging plants. The system features a plastic chain with a higher tensile force and better flexibility than previous models.

Users can choose from two versions depending on the type of food being conveyed. The aluminium model is best suited to transporting food packages in dry environments. The stainless steel model is targeted at food processors needing higher hygienic standards.

Five chain widths of 100, 160, 240 and 320 mm allow the conveyor to be adjusted to the foods being conveyed.

The nearly closed chain surface allows products to be transported directly on the chain without using workpiece pallets.

The conveyor's slide rails are clipped into the lateral section profiles allowing a faster set-up time as riveting is no longer necessary. After the rails begin to wear down, they can be rotated 180° and reused.

The chain links are divided into two parts, allowing a damaged part to be removed without using a special tool.
