New website helps food industry manage allergens
The Allergen Bureau has targeted the food industry with the launch of a website that aims to facilitate the improvement of food allergen management in Australian and New Zealand industry.
The bureau is an initiative of the Australian Food & Grocery Council Allergen Forum, and is using the website "” www.allergenbureau.net "” to deliver up-to-date information to the industry.
With more than 8% of children and 2% of adults allergic to one or more foods, the Allergen Bureau aims to facilitate the improvement of food allergen management across the Australian and New Zealand food industry.
The new website is easier to update, has a greater depth of content and has been designed to be easier to navigate than the existing site.
New functionality includes a content management system to enable the Allergen Bureau to regularly update content in-house, an events area, a subscriber email newsletter, and online members only area.
Tom Lewis, manager of the Allergen Bureau, said: "We are thrilled with the new branding and new website that Mangold Sengers Design created for us. The visual identity gives us a greater presence in the marketplace " a peg on which to hang our hat " and it will soon be available to members for use on their websites in the form of member logos and certificates. We hope display of the logo will become something to which all players in the food industry will aspire.
"We aim to be a one-stop shop where all industry players, regardless of size, have easy access to the latest allergen management resources. The new website has also positioned us on the global stage with representatives from the UK and US food industries signing up for our electronic newsletter."
