Kardex opens office in Sydney
Swiss Intralogistics solutions provider Kardex has opened its Australian office in Lidcombe Business Park in Western Sydney.
In honour of Kardex’s Swiss roots, the recent opening ceremony at the new office started with songs played on traditional Swiss Alphorns. Visitors on the day were able to see demonstrations of Kardex’s Vertical Lift Module (VLM) and the AutoStore Grid.
The cube-based AutoStore automated storage and retrieval (ASRS) system is a modular, high-density, flexible order fulfilment solution. It is designed to increase throughput and maximise storage space, and it has the flexibility to adapt and scale to meet changing business needs.
Kardex Remstar also showcased its goods-to-person VLM, which features an enclosed shelf-based storage system. Designed to increase capacity in a more compact footprint, the modular VLM is easy to use and increases productivity by delivering goods directly to the operator.
Alan Gemmell, Kardex Head of Commercial for Remstar, says, “We have had a great day at our new premises, generating excitement about the potential our intralogistics solutions offer companies in Australia to improve the efficiency, safety and scalability of their operations. The new office provides an excellent resource, with a showroom, expert staff and a prime location in Lidcombe Business Park. It demonstrates our commitment to the Australian and New Zealand market, as well as our desire to provide our customers with the best possible localised support and the automation solutions that work for them.”
