Milk recalled over contamination fears

Dairy company Lactalis Australia is recalling eight varieties of 1 L milk products over fears they may contain "an amount of food grade dairy cleaning solution".

The affected milk includes Coles, Pauls, REV and PhysiCAL brands with use-by dates of 25–28 June 2019 that have been available for sale in Coles, Woolworths, IGA and other retailers across Victoria. Coles also warned that the recalled milk was sold at NSW stores (including Lavington, Deniliquin and Albury) and Coles Online.

“The milk products may have a yellowish colouring and/or metallic chemical taste,” the company said in a statement. “Lactalis Australia has identified the source of the contamination and taken the necessary steps to address it and prevent any recurrence of this problem in the future.”

Consumers are being encouraged not to consume the products and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
