Loryma ingredients halal certified
Thursday, 14 July, 2022
Loryma has announced that all of its ingredients are now halal certified by the European Institute of Halal Certification. This means that the ingredients produced by Loryma are confirmed to not have any substances forbidden under Islamic law.
Loryma produces a variety of functional ingredients. These ingredients include wheat texturates, binding components, coatings and breadings, starch mixtures, stabilising systems, and protein additives. These products are used in plant-based meat alternatives, among other applications where a particular property might be needed for a manufactured food.
Loryma initiated the certification process due to an increased demand for halal-certified products, with the global market for them thought to be currently worth around $2 billion. This market is predicted to grow by over 11% in the next five years.
“The halal certificate has been in high demand from customers from Muslim countries and is of great importance. We are therefore pleased that our products meet the requirements,” said Henrik Hetzer, Managing Director of Loryma.
