Givaudan getting more savoury and more natural
Givaudan has acquired Activ International, a Swiss-based company that specialises in natural and organic flavours, marine extracts, seafood and vegetable based culinary solutions.
Givaudan plans to fund the transaction from existing resources. While terms of the deal have not been disclosed, Activ’s business is estimated to have represented approximately CHF 40 million of incremental sales to Givaudan’s results in 2016 on a proforma basis.
Givaudan’s 2020 strategy focuses on expanding the company’s natural products portfolio to better meet the demands for more natural and organic products from food and beverage companies.
