Reduce the risk of recalls due to packaging and labelling faults

Monday, 31 March, 2014

Between 2003 and 2012, Food Standards Australia (FSANZ) coordinated 658 food recalls. Undeclared allergens alone account for approximately 91% (206 recalls) of all labelling-related recalls.  Loss of sales, goodwill and brand damage should also be taken into consideration. Food recalls are an unnecessary waste and can be easily reduced to achieve better efficiencies and profitability.
