Hanna Instruments HI 96801 digital sucrose refractometer

Tuesday, 13 December, 2011 | Supplied by: Hanna Instruments Pty Ltd

The Hanna HI 96801 digital sucrose refractometer offers a specific analysis to determine accurate sugar concentration. It measures the refractive index to determine parameters pertinent to sugar concentration analysis and is designed for analysing food such as fruits, energy drinks, puddings, soy milk juices, syrups, jam, marmalade, honey, soups, jelly, tofu and condiments. It is rugged, portable and water resistant, making it suitable for taking measurements in the lab or field.

The actual measurement of refractive index is fast and simple and provides the operator with a standard accepted method for sugar content analysis. Samples are measured after a simple calibration with deionised or distilled water. The refractometer measures the refractive index of the sample and converts it to degrees Brix within seconds. The HI 96801 may eliminate the uncertainty associated with mechanical refractometers. The meter features automatic temperature compensation for accurate measurements.

The HI 96801 utilises internationally recognised references for unit conversion and temperature compensation and employs methodology recommended by the ICUMSA, the internationally recognised body for sugar analysis.

Temperature  is displayed simultaneously with the measurement on the large dual-level display along with icons for low power and other relevant messages. The meter is supplied with a battery and an instruction manual.
