Rockwell Automation recognised in Magic Quadrant report
Rockwell Automation has been named as a visionary for its FactoryTalk ProductionCentre and Plex Systems, and as a leader for its smart manufacturing platform in the Gartner Magic Quadrant evaluation of manufacturing execution systems (MES).
The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a method of organising technology companies into one of four quadrants of competitiveness: leaders, visionaries, niche players and challengers. Each category represents a different kind of competition.
According to the evaluation, companies in the leader quadrant can execute their technological visions and are well placed for the future; visionaries understand where the market is headed or foresee changing market rules but don’t yet execute this well; niche players focus successfully on a small market segment, or don’t provide innovation or performance above other companies; and challengers may be doing well today but don’t have a clear vision of a market’s direction.
Rockwell said that its placement in the Magic Quadrant as a leader and a visionary shows the reach it has in the market and industry for its MES portfolio.
“We welcome the recognition of Rockwell’s MES portfolio in the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant report,” said Brian Shepherd, Rockwell Automation Senior Vice President, Software & Control.
“We’re proud to see the Rockwell FactoryTalk solution recognised as a visionary for its game-changing orchestration of MES functions,” Shepherd said. “We believe the positioning of Plex as a leader also showcases the impact and value the Smart Manufacturing Platform delivers to customers. We feel this recognition of Rockwell’s comprehensive portfolio by Gartner further demonstrates the synergy between these offerings.”
