Aussie PIDA award winners shortlisted for Special Awards
Two Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) award winners from 2022 — Caps & Closures and BioPak — have been shortlisted as finalists for three WorldStar Packaging Awards.
Caps & Closures is a finalist in two separate award categories for two different products: the Accessible Packaging design special award for the EzyGrip and the Packaging that Saves Food special award for the ThermoShield Temperature Monitoring System – Food.
Caps & Closures EzyGrip
The company is up against Salt Industry Centre Shio Hitofuri one-shake (hitofuri) salt (Japan) and the Toyo Seikan Finger-fitting tab for food can lids (Japan) for the Accessible Packaging Design award.
For the Packaging that Saves Food special award, finalists include Masterpack Group Modified atmosphere technology (Netherlands) and Amcor Copperprotech LifeSpan copper based film (Chile).
BioPak is a finalist in the Sustainable Packaging Design special award for the Sugarcane Pulp Hot & Cold Cup Lids.
Other finalists for this award include Coca-Cola Tokyo Research & Development (Japan) Coca-Cola label-free PET bottle and Raja SeaStretch manual stretch wrap made of paper (Norway).
The winners of the awards will be announced on 6 May at the 2023 WorldStar Packaging Awards ceremony, which will be held as part of interpack in Dusseldorf, Germany. There will be 19 Australian and New Zealand companies receiving general awards on the night.
