Anuga 2021 food and beverage trade show nearly fully booked
International food and beverage industry event Anuga has reported positive registration figures ahead of its hybrid format launch.
For the first time, the event will be held digitally as well as in Cologne, Germany, from 9 to 13 October this year.
Event organisers Koelnmesse said after the expiry of the early bird phase, the food and beverages trade fair has already recorded a similar number of bookings as for the previous event.
Out of the 10 trade shows available at the Anuga event, eight have been fully booked.
“More applications have been currently received than can be accommodated on the surfaces available,” Koelnmesse said in a statement.
Overall, exhibitors from 83 countries have registered so far.
This year’s additional element, Anuga@home, ensures international industry participants — exhibitors, trade visitors and the trade press — can exchange ideas digitally via the newly developed platform.
This is in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced other industry events to cancel due to travel restrictions and health concerns.
Anuga Director Stefanie Mauritz said the current coverage on the vaccinations is also providing confidence that Anuga will take place in a physical form in 2021.
“Naturally, we will continue to anticipate all eventualities and will plan the trade fair under corona conditions with the aid of our hygiene and safety concepts,” she said.
