Magnetic-inductive inline volumetric flow sensor

Sunday, 01 June, 2008 | Supplied by: ifm efector pty ltd

A magnetic-inductive inline flow sensor, efector mid, from ifm, has a flow rate, totalising and temperature indication that can be adapted to different conditions due to its flexible programming. It has a high protection rating and robust housing.

The device is used for exact flowmetering conductive liquids eg, water, coolant or oils. Due to the measuring range of 0 to 25 L/min and an accuracy of ±2% of the measured value, the unit can be used in a wide range of applications.

At the same time the temperature of the medium is detected. No moving components are used.

Mounting via R ¼ or R ¾ adapter ensures easy installation in the pipe. The electrical connection is made via the standardised M12 connector.

The 4-digit alphanumeric display indicates the current volumetric flow quantity, the accumulated total quantity or medium temperature. Switching, pulse or analog outputs are available for external evaluation.

The diagnostic functionality enables the safe operation of cooling circuits and systems. Due to the continuous monitoring the sensor can be integrated in condition-based maintenance concepts.
