Food preferences and shopping habits on the table for AgTalks
Food preferences and shopping habits will be on the table at the inaugural AgTalks event in Melbourne later this month.
AgTalks will take the form of a panel discussion. Sponsored by the Australian Government and broadcast on Radio National’s Bush Telegraph program, the panel will ponder the topic ‘Australians don’t care where their food comes from, as long as it’s cheap and looks good’.
Cameron Wilson, presenter of the ABC’s Bush Telegraph program, will host AgTalks. It will be modelled on ABC TV’s Q&A program.
The panel includes speakers from the food, health, science and marketing industries, including:
- Judith Damiani, CEO of Citrus Australia
- Jane Adams, National Representative for the Farmers’ Markets Association
- Dougal Gordon, CEO of the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association
- Steve Spencer, Director of Fresh Logic
“The aim of bringing these people together is to stimulate discussions about how to keep Australian agriculture strong into the future,” said Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Joe Ludwig.
“This month’s panel discussion will get all Australians talking about their priorities when it comes to buying food, and another event focused on youth issues is planned for next year.”
The program will be recorded in Melbourne in front of a studio audience. The broadcast date and content from the program will be available on both the ABC’s and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s websites.
