Nestlé Purina PetCare’s Blayney plant has received a $31 million upgrade, creating more jobs and making the factory one of the leading facilities of its kind in the world, according to the company. The upgrade included the installation of world-class equipment and a 5400 m2 warehouse.

The warehouse project provided 80 subcontractors with work, while 17 new jobs have been created over the last two years as a result of the investment. Nestlé Purina PetCare is the biggest employer in Blayney, employing more than 200 people with an average service length of 14 years.

The upgrade was unveiled by Paul Toole, Member for Bathurst, who said, “To have an international company such as Nestlé Purina PetCare make this kind of investment in Blayney sends a very good signal that NSW is ready and willing to do business to help create jobs and security for its people.

“We are extremely pleased that Nestlé Purina PetCare has decided to make its Blayney factory one of the most technologically advanced among its many manufacturing sites globally - this is great news for our region,” Toole said.

The factory produces around 100,000 tonnes of product a year, sourcing more than 80% of raw materials from Australia. Brands such as Supercoat, Beneful, Pro Plan and Friskies are manufactured at the Blayney plant.
