Monday, 16 June, 2014 | Supplied by: Heat and Control Pty Ltd

Heat and Control has announced the Urschel Flat‐V Cut, which can be used with slicing models CC, CC‐D, CC‐DL and CCX‐D. The cut was originally developed for potato chip processors, but also has potential in both the cheese and vegetable industries.

The device can produce both full and reduced flat-V shreds. The full shred has a hexagonal-shaped cross-section measuring approximately 3.8 mm on all sides, while the reduced shred has a flattened top and bottom that form a corrugated shred. The cut can produce slice thicknesses of up to 4.6 mm (measured across flats) with 2.1 corrugations/inch. The depth of each corrugation is 3.2 mm.
