The Kronen AS 16 automatic apple peeling and slicing machine is suitable for processing apples with diameters from 60-120 mm. It is able to peel, slice or segment and core up to 2000 apples/h. Switching from one apple size to another size can be easily set within 2 min online at the machine during the peeling process (no further auxiliary tool is needed).

Any other tooling (for slicing or segmenting) can be changed simply and very quickly. The robust machine features simple maintenance, easy and efficient cleaning and is suitable for professional applications.

In the first process stage the apples are placed into the four holders. The fruit holders are transported forward by means of a servomotor drive. The fruit holders are pushed upwards pneumatically to transfer the apple centred onto the pins. The pins with the fruit rotate simultaneously 90° reaching the peel position. Through rotation and a special formed knife the peel process starts. At the end of this process the apples have a very smooth surface (without grooved marks).

In the second stage of the process, the peeled apples go through a cutting device to be sliced. In the third stage the apples can be either cored (23, 25 or 27 mm) or cored and segmented into 2 to 16 pieces. The end product (either peeled, cored or cut) is directed out of the machine through a conveyor. The machine includes an SPS that controls the servomotor drives (for the feeding and the rotation systems) and a pneumatic system, which requires unoiled, dry air at 6 bar.
