The Rauchergold range of wood chips is specially prepared for food smoking. The range includes beech, oak, and fir species. Beech wood chips are used extensively throughout Europe for traditional smoked smallgoods. Fir is used for Black Forest style products and oak is preferred by fish smokers.

Rauchergold wood chips being specially prepared for use in smokehouses have a consistent moisture content, uniform particle size ranges and are dust free so they perform in a safe and consistent way in the smokehouse. Smo-King Ovens, like most other of the world's leading smokehouse manufacturers, approves Rauchergold wood chips for use in their smokehouse range.

Increasingly, major retailers of smoked product are insisting that smokehouse operators guarantee the wood chips used for smoke generation contain no contaminants which could harm consumers. Rauchergold wood chips are manufactured in a process certified to quality standard ISO 9001.

Smo-King Ovens also has available Rauchergold logs for use in smokehouses with friction smoke generators.
