Hygienic design for food production automation systems

Integrated Automation Limited (IAL), a leading provider of automation solutions, has set a new benchmark in food production by standardising Rittal’s Hygienic Design (HD) enclosures across its automation systems.

Designed for hygiene-critical environments, Rittal’s HD enclosures can provide durability, compliance and visual appeal. IAL needed a solution that could withstand high-pressure washdowns, manage condensation, and meet strict hygiene regulations — all while protecting critical automation components.

Rittal’s HD enclosures are engineered with high-grade stainless steel, a 30° sloped roof to prevent water pooling, and distinctive blue, FDA-compliant gaskets that simplify hygiene inspections. Quick-release fasteners and modular design support easy maintenance and flexible system integration.

IAL’s Managing Director, Donovan Ryan, said: “The HD series has a superior design, high-quality stainless-steel construction, and hygienic blue seals. Protecting the automation components is essential to prevent downtime.”

The successful implementation has helped IAL deliver compliant systems to its food production clients — setting a new standard.

The Rittal HD range will be on show at FoodTech Qld.
