Magnetic filters keep chocolate iron free

Monday, 27 August, 2007

Large European chocolate producers are using double-walled magnetic filters from Goudsmit Magnetic Systems to remove very fine iron particles (from 25 mhu) from liquid chocolate.

The filters are installed in the processing lines of the various factories, in line with the European legislation on the HACCP quality of food and confectionery.

The double-walled magnetic filters are used for removing iron from products which solidify and which are transported under pressure. This is particularly important when processing chocolate. By warming up the housing with water at a temperature of 30°C, the chocolate is prevented from solidifying. The use of powerful Neoflux magnetic bars prevents the iron particles from being carried through.

The construction of the magnetic filter is fully sanitary, ensuring it can comply with the stringent HACCP requirements of the food industry.

The magnetic filters supplied to the European chocolate producers remove extremely fine iron particles from liquid chocolate.
