Foodmach launches new Code One all-inclusive reliability package

At a time of uncertainty for manufacturers, Foodmach has launched a package designed to increase certainty of both cash flow and equipment reliability for coding and labelling activities on packaging lines.

In partnership with global giant Markem-Imaje, Foodmach’s unique Code One package eliminates the worry and hassle of making capital investments in product traceability solutions. The innovative package includes all printing hardware, technical support services, spare parts and printing consumables for one fixed and low monthly charge over 60 months. For further peace-of-mind, the package also includes an industry-first 5-year warranty, never before widely offered in Australia on coding and labelling equipment.

As a long-standing Australian manufacturer of factory automation solutions, Foodmach has experienced increased demand to assist manufacturers during the Covid-19 crisis. Having a large and local engineering design, fabrication, and technical support team has been a tremendous asset for customers.

Foodmach’s manufacturing facility in Echuca, with 65 trades people, has even retooled to manufacture three surgical face-mask machines for the only current Australian face-mask manufacturer, Med-Con, based in Shepparton. This is a project Foodmach is immensely proud to be involved with, but not what they expected to be doing just over a month ago.

The Code One package is available on the complete range of Markem-Imaje coding and labelling technologies, including laser coders, carton and pallet labellers and inkjet printers. The package can also be expanded to include Markem-Imaje’s leading traceability software solution, CoLOS.

The new Code One all-inclusive reliability package from Foodmach is available on the complete Markem-Imaje product range, including the recently launched X45 and X65 TTO printer range.

“For too long, manufacturers have been the ones carrying the technical and financial risk for coding and labelling technology on production lines. Foodmach felt it was time this changed. We’re confident in our technology and our ability to support our customers. So, for one fixed monthly charge, we’ll take care of the equipment, technical support, parts and consumables,” said Phil Biggs, GM – Product Traceability solutions at Foodmach.

“This isn’t such a big leap in many ways, but it is for this technology sector. Our customers typically have similar arrangements in place for fork-lifts, photo-copiers and work vehicles, so we thought it made sense to extend it to coding equipment.”

“We’re confident in our Markem-Imaje coding technology and in our own ability to reliably support our customers, both onsite and remotely. This is why we can confidently assume the technical and financial risk in providing this service. It’s one less thing for you to worry about.”

As an extension of the program, other packaging technologies, such as product traceability software, inspection equipment, stretch-wrappers and case packers are also included in the program.

Dr Rym Kachouri, GM – Service and Agency Products at Foodmach added, “We have been trialing the package over the past 18 months with several large customers in the beverage, dairy and industrial sectors. That success has now resulted in the Code One reliability package now being made available more broadly.”

“And at a time when many customers are restricting access to sites by visitors, Foodmach can offer various forms of remote support, along with top up technical training to enable your team to be self-sufficient for many maintenance activities. We can even conduct our normal new application assessment process remotely, so you may not even require a visit to site by one of our sales team.”

“Ultimately our goal is to provide you with the latest coding and labelling technology that operates reliably all of the time, at a fixed cost for you.”

For customers that can take advantage of the federal government’s instant asset write-off incentive for purchases of up to $150,000, Foodmach can even structure a Code One package that does not include the equipment purchase in the monthly charge.
