Sirane invests to keep pace with growth in cooking-bag market
Packaging manufacturer Sirane has invested in two new machines and additional manufacturing capacity to keep pace with global interest in cooking-bag solutions.
The company manufactures steam cooking bags for the oven and microwave, oven/BBQ bags, nylon roasting bags, Siralon nylon packaging for the oven or microwave, sous-vide bags and Smart-Release ‘dual-compartment’ bags for use in the microwave.
Two new ‘bag-making’ machines have been installed, significantly increasing capacity for some of the company’s products including steam-cooking bags and roasting bags.
Sirane Managing Director Simon Balderson said: “The last 12 months have seen a significant growth in the cooking-bag market and we wanted to stay ahead of the game.
“More and more companies are seeing the benefit of quality steam-cooking bags as an over-the-counter solution, nylon bags for roasting and more. The versatility of our packaging solutions, with self-seal or heat-seal options able to be used by the end user in the oven or microwave, makes them a very attractive way of adding value to sales.
“But it is important to Sirane that we are always able to make what our customers want, when they want it and on time - so investment in additional capacity was crucial.”
An additional machine has been installed in Sirane Turkey’s manufacturing facility in Antalya, which will enable the company to manufacture and supply a range of cooking bags, including vacuum bags, to markets in Turkey and the Middle East.
