SIPA installs Cambodia's first natural mineral water plant
Tuesday, 12 August, 2014
Cambodia’s first mineral water plant, Kulen Water, has opened in Phnom Penh, with a production line that will initially produce bottles in 300 mL, 500 mL and 1.5 L formats. The company is also looking to develop new designs for its premium and lightweight bottles that will be sold in high-end restaurants and hotels in the country and other retail outlets.
Kulen Water selected SIPA to install a SFL 6/6 linear stretch blow moulding machine in the plant. The SFL 6/6 has six blowing cavities and has a production speed of up to 9600 bottles/h.
The machine is a popular choice for operations such as Kulen Water due to its high productivity, low energy consumption, versatility and flexibility. The machine selected can produce a wide range of standard and special containers from 100 mL to 12 L. The system for gripping the preforms enables the type of neck to be changed (from 28 up to 48 mm) with simple operations and without the use of tools and adjustments.
At Kulen Water, the stretch blow moulding machine has been integrated with a complete set of downstream bottling and packaging equipment. SIPA is working with the company on future bottle designs.
