Football fever hits the bottled water market in Ukraine
Thursday, 09 August, 2012
As part of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship festivities, stretch blow moulding machine supplier SIPA worked with IDS Ukraine to develop special football-shaped Morshinska branded mineral water.
IDS Ukraine is part of mineral water producer IDS Borjomi International, which has been working with SIPA since 2005 after it supplied two lines for large bottle production in its Oskar and Mirgrodskaya plants.

The result was a limited-edition football-shaped 2.5 L water bottle. Its size puts it close to the upper limit of the SIPA three-cavity SFL Linear blow moulding machine’s capability, so SIPA worked closely with IDS on the design, providing input on the optimum parameters for the reheat-stretch-blow moulding sequence.
To ensure the labels could be applied correctly to the bottle, minor modifications to the bottle’s panels were required to provide a suitable surface.
SIPA is represented in Oceania by HBM Plastics & Packaging Technologies.
