Unilever extends agreement with Barry Callebaut
Unilever has extended its long-term global strategic agreement with Barry Callebaut Group for the supply of cocoa and chocolate.
Originally signed in 2012, the renewed strategic supply agreement will see Barry Callebaut focus on delivering chocolate innovations for ice cream to Unilever, driving long-term growth globally. The agreement will also see Barry Callebaut continue to support Unilever in its sustainability goals.
Willem Uijen, Unilever’s Chief Procurement Officer, said Barry Callebaut will help Unilever execute its ambitious growth plans and lead to greater innovation across its ice-cream brands, such as Magnum and Ben & Jerry’s.
Rogier van Sligter, Barry Callebaut President EMEA, said the extended agreement will build on the partnership that has been maintained over the past decade.
“During this time, we have become a preferred global supplier and innovation partner for one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies, by working closely together in all areas of the partnership, from building a resilient supply chain to leveraging our strength in bringing the latest innovations to Unilever. Going forward, we will continue to support Unilever’s efforts to achieve its sustainability targets,” van Sligter said.
