The Food Manufacturing Ingredients - Australia (FMIA) catalogue fills a need for a reliable food ingredients directory for the food manufacturing industry in Australia. This has not existed until now.

Benefits of the catalogue include:

• Will save time for food technicians, research and development departments and purchasing managers;
• Will avoid overlooking a supplier for a specific product;
• Will allow larger choices of suppliers to enable better negotiation and security of delivery of materials.

FMIA is a catalogue or directory in a CD format and was launched in July 2008.

It contains information on ingredients and suppliers for the food manufacturing industry in Australia. It includes a search engine enabling R&D, logistics, marketing and manufacturing managers to identify ingredients and their suppliers, Australia wide, in seconds.

The CD will be available to the food and allied industries through nominated distributors or can be purchased online.

Ingredients Australia will be updating the catalogue on a regular basis to ensure that data is reliable and current. Continuous improvement through research and development of the database will ensure that FMIA will expand with each edition.
