TGA-listed infant formula
Australia’s newest premium infant formula brand, Nutura, will be hitting the shelves this month. The product is the first infant formula to be listed as a therapeutic medicine with the TGA. It also conforms to the United Nations international pharmaceutical inspection cooperation (PIC), representing a standard in manufacturing safety.
Nutura uses 100% Australian dairy and is manufactured in a dedicated facility in Melbourne. Owning the facility has allowed parent company Functional Foods Global (FFG) to implement manufacturing processes that go well beyond what Australian standards require.
“All ingredients that enter our facility are sent away for independent testing prior to use,” said FFG Managing Director Yossi Spigler. “Once we have the finished product, we also send that away for a full range of independent testing before it’s released, even though Australian standards do not require us to.”
Nutura formulas have been tested and have been shown to have some of the highest levels of calcium, iron, antioxidant vitamins, phosphorous and L-carnitine. Nutura was also found to be high in omega-3 and -6, DHA and B group vitamins.
Nutura will be available at selected retail outlets and pharmacies around Australia and includes Stage 1 (0–6 months), Stage 2 (6–12 months) and Stage 3 (1–2 years).
