Krones NitroHotfill bottle wins design award
A Krones-designed NitroHotfill bottle has won Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) the 2013 Australian Packaging Design Award. The 600 mL Powerade Sports bottle was voted ‘Best of Show’ at the awards.
The bottle was also selected as the 2013-2014 Worldstar Winner by the World Packaging Organisation.

CCA set Krones the challenge of creating an extremely lightweight, eco-friendly hotfill bottle with a 38 mm wide-neck closure.
Krones rose to the challenge and also reduced the container’s weight from 33 to 24 g. The filling process was also changed over from hotfill to warmfill, leading to substantial energy savings. All of the bottle’s constituents can be fully recycled.
