Food product launches: gin, dog yoghurt and more
From legend-inspired gin to tubs of cookie dough, here are some of the foods now arriving on shelves.
1. Cookie dough by the tub
Cold Rock Ice Creamery has launched its vegan-friendly tub of cookie dough which is designed to be eaten either raw or cooked. This marks the ice cream chain’s first time venturing into the FMCG market. The product is available in Cold Rock Ice Creamery stores now.
2. Mushroom burrito filling
Guzman y Gomez’s newest filling is a vegetarian option developed with the plant-based protein company Fable Food Co. The shredded shiitake mushroom filling is seasoned with Guzman y Gomez’s authentic Mexican flavours and has no artificial flavours, preservatives, additives or colours.
3. Prebiotic wholefood bar
Brookfarm’s Prebiotic Wholefood Bars have been developed to be a nutritious and energy-boosting snack, packed with prebiotic nuts and seeds for a healthy gut. Available in three flavours (almond and cinnamon; chocolate, almond and coconut; and salted caramel and almond), they are low sugar and have sustainably sourced ingredients, with extra zinc for an immune system boost. The bars are free from preservatives, additives and are non-GMO.
4. Plant-based infant formula range
Sprout’s plant-based infant formula has been developed to provide a nutritional formula to infants. The range was recently expanded with the Sprout Junior Protein shake which supplements nutritional gaps commonly seen in young children.
5. Folklore-inspired gin
One of the UK’s favourite gins has arrived on Australian shores. Silent Pool Gin is said to be inspired by English folklore and is distilled with 24 botanicals in a four-stage distillation process. Described as being full-bodied, fresh and clear, this gin contains no artificial ingredients or flavours and received a double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
6. Yoghurt for dogs
Chobani’s Daily Dollop lactose-free yoghurt has been specially developed for dogs in order to provide protein, calcium and probiotics for discerning canines. The yoghurt is claimed to be gentle on dogs’ stomachs and features only three ingredients (skim milk, lactase and live yoghurt cultures).
