New biotechnology facility coming to Queensland
Probiotics Australia has announced it will open a state-of-the-art biotechnology facility on Queensland’s Gold Coast on 13 May 2019.
Located in Ormeau, the facility is “unique in Australia and will help transform the probiotics industry”, according to Probiotics Australia General Manager Shaun Roux.
Probiotics are ‘good bacteria’ that can assist the body to produce vitamins, absorb nutrients from food and even play a role in regulating mood.
At Probiotics Australia, an extensive library of probiotic strains will be produced, offering a high-quality, local solution for the healthcare, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and beverage, agriculture and pet care industries. Custom development services are also available.
The facility is certified organic, meets food production standards and is designed to meet TGA requirements. Senior Quality Manager Joe Liu said: “Quality is built into the very fabric of the facility and will be evident in the products made here.”
