Introduction to Packaging Specifications webinar
The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) will be running an online training course, titled ‘Introduction to Packaging Specifications’. Taking place on 24 May from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, the course will define all the necessary packing levels for a product or the transport of a product. For products, packaging specification focuses on the product and the packaging materials used to ensure safe travels throughout the supply chain.
The course will cover aspects such as:
- Why a specification is important.
- Managing specifications.
- Collecting data.
- The fundamentals of drafting a specification.
Material types in packaging, sampling plans, testing packaging and how to incorporate data into a single document will be discussed in the course, as well as the importance of auditing packaging suppliers.
It will conclude with industry applications and discuss possible pitfalls and the issues that may occur over time when specifications are not available or up to date, as well as what to do in those situations.
The course is intended for anyone who wants to introduce their own packaging component specifications into their company and anyone who wants to understand the relevance and importance of specifications in relation to legal aspects.
It is also suitable for those who would like to know how to maintain and ensure that all packaging specifications are always up to date.
The course will be presented by Pierre Pienaar, AIP Education Director and President of the World Packaging Organisation, and feature guest lecturer Matthew Wright, Founder and CEO of Specright.
