Tuesday, 28 January, 2014

Artisan food and winemakers looking to improve their business skills can now do so with TAFE SA’s Entrepreneurship for Food and Wine course.

Available as both a Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate, the course has been designed to develop creators of niche market businesses in the food and wine industries.

“We are looking forward to working with people within the artisan food and wine industry and assisting them to develop and hone strategic business skills to enable them to achieve superior results. Our cutting-edge studies and online delivery allows for flexibility within postgraduate studies which will attract students from around Australia,” said Scott Dwyer, Senior Lecturer for TAFE SA.

The course runs online over six or twelve months (or the part-time equivalent). Led by industry experts who are passionate about their trades, the course offers students the opportunity to grow professionally.

TAFE SA says the course enables graduates to apply a variety of skills to their own business or that of a potential or existing employer, including:

  • Developing an existing business by introducing a new product range or service to create a unique point of difference.
  • Reviewing and developing a new business concept from idea to implementation.
  • Identifying and assessing commercialisation opportunities.
  • Applying change management within a business to create a unique experience or culture.
  • Operating a business in an increasingly international context.
  • Marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Financial planning and revenue control.
