SCLAA announces alliance with US CSCMP

Wednesday, 06 June, 2012

The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) and the US Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) have announced a five-year exclusive agreement for the joint benefit of their respective members. The two groups said they hope the alliance will “enhance SCLAA’s global presence and outreach while contributing to the advancement of SCLAA’s mission within Australia”.

Rick Blasgen, CEO of the CSCMP, said that the two groups share a vision for the industry and have a similar mission statement, both of which are directed to advancing the discipline of supply chain management.

“The exclusive agreement will allow both associations the opportunity to explore ways to share research and new learning about supply chain management and logistics and collaborate on a host of strategic activities,” added David Rogers, National Chairperson of the SCLAA.

“The collaboration is expected to expand the knowledge base in supply chain management in their respective countries,” said Rogers.

“Under the alliance, SCLAA members will be able to join both organisations concurrently with one single payment to SCLAA in Australian dollars. SCLAA members may opt for a CSCMP web membership or a full membership, both at a discounted annual fee. CSCMP web memberships and CSCMP full memberships will only be available in Australia through this alliance,” Rogers said.

The special membership offer is also open to New Zealand supply chain professionals associated with the SCLAA. There will be reciprocal agreements for any SCLAA members visiting the United States to participate in CSCMP events and opportunities to provide Australian speakers to CSCMP events.

For more information on the partnership, call the SCLAA National Office on 1300 364 160, email the SCLAA secretary or visit the SCLAA website.
