Inaugural Food Import Regulatory Standards conference

The inaugural Food Import Regulatory Standards (FIRS) conference will take place on 28 June in New Delhi, India. Fi Conferences is launching the conference, which it says will help those importing to India understand and overcome current regulatory challenges, sampling and analysis ambiguity, customs clearance hurdles and labelling issues related to food import.

The conference is expected to bring together heads of imports and supply chain from food and beverage manufacturers, packaged food importers, ingredient manufacturers and suppliers.

The one-day conference will cover:

  • Understanding recent developments in import regulations
  • Evaluating the latest sampling and analysis procedures to streamline the importing process
  • Practical techniques to fast-track the customs clearance process
  • Clarifying labelling requirements for effective communication
  • 60 minutes exclusive open discussion with the regulators and industry experts

Speakers will include: Dr Dhir Singh, Director, QA&S, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI); Suhas Chaudhari, Joint Commissioner Nashik Division, FDA Maharashtra; Dr Shrinivasa Bhat, Corporate Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Manager, Nestlé; Prabodh Halde, Head Regulatory, Marico; Padmaparna Dasgupta, Head Policy, Regulatory R&D, Strategic and External Affairs, GSK Consumer Healthcare; and Raghu Guda, General Manager, National Institute for Smart Government.

The organisers say the event is “an unparalleled information interface and networking platform, helping you to get an edge in the fast-developing Indian food import market”.
