APMA chairman steps down

Tuesday, 29 August, 2006

Chairman of the Australian Packaging Machinery Association and chief executive officer of Heat and Control, Jim Strang has advised the APMA Board of his intention to stand down.

Strang advised the board that due to increasing overseas travel as a result of growth within the international marketplace, he was unable to give the necessary time to the role of APMA chairman.

Strang has been involved with APMA since 1983 when Heat and Control became an inaugural member of the association.

In recognition of Australia's role in the world packaging and packaging machinery industry, Strang was elected chairman of the world Confederation of Packaging Machinery Associations and chaired the international meeting in Italy earlier this year.
