Amazonia to open its R&D facility on the Gold Coast
Australian health food manufacturer Amazonia, responsible for such brands as Açaí and RawFIT, has announced that it will be opening a new facility on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
The Amazonia Innovation Lab, as it will be called, will be the global headquarters of the company and will also see products developed for a range of markets, including potential international ones.
Amazonia CEO Yohann Azlee said that the Lab will be a place for sustainable experimentation with plant-sourced foods to create new nutritional formulations in an environmentally friendly and ethical way.
“Our new Lab will not only be new global headquarters for Amazonia, housing our planned 50 or so Queensland-based staff, but it is also going to be the place we innovate with plant-sourced nutrients to create highly effective nutritional solutions,” Azlee said.

Located at Unit 8, 12 Distribution Court, Arundel on the Gold Coast, the 1450 m2 site will be fitted out with eco-friendly standards and sustainable principles, with a 5 Star Green Star Design rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.
Amazonia, founded in 2008, produces almost 80 different products and exports to countries in Asia and the Middle East. It recently signed a distribution deal with Coles, which will carry its products across Australia.
