evian launches recycled plastic bottle range
evian has launched a range of bottles made from recycled plastic, as part of its push to produce packaging that is more sustainable and to become circular by 2025.
With the exception of the lid and label, the bottles are made entirely of recycled plastic that comes from other bottles.
By using recycled PET (rPET) in the bottles, the amount of carbon emissions produced during the manufacturing process can be reduced by up to 50%. All of the plastic in the rPET is sourced from other PET bottles that have been recycled.
“We owe everything to nature, and we are dedicated and committed to our journey to care for our planet by providing our natural mineral water in the most sustainable way possible as we look to become circular by 2025,” said Shweta Harit, Global Brand Vice President for evian.
“It drives us to find revolutionary and sustainable ways to promote recycling, while also building consciousness for a more sustainable future.”
“We are really proud to have innovated our range and produced a bottle that is made from bottles. Increasing demand for rPET promotes better recycling systems to keep plastic out of nature and in the economy. We encourage everyone to accelerate the usage of these collection points and ensure that all bottles can become new bottles, keeping the use of virgin plastic to an absolute minimum.”
