Specialised gas solutions for a changing food industry
Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) continues to gain momentum across Australia’s food manufacturing sector as producers seek longer shelf life, improved product quality, reduced food waste and greater distribution flexibility.
As consumer expectations increase and supply chains become more complex, the atmosphere inside a package has become just as important as the packaging itself. Achieving consistent gas composition, validating package integrity and maintaining process control are now critical quality requirements for many food producers.
Recognising this shift, Niche Gas Products has launched Specialised Gas Technologies Australia (SGTA) — a dedicated business focused on controlled gas solutions for the food, medical and agricultural industries.
While Niche Gas Products has supported Australian manufacturers for more than two decades, SGTA has been established to provide a dedicated technical focus on gas analysis, leak detection, gas mixing, package integrity testing and process validation. The objective is simple: help manufacturers understand, measure and control the gases that directly influence product quality and shelf life.
SGTA continues the longstanding exclusive partnership with German manufacturer WITT Gasetechnik, bringing globally recognised MAP technology and expertise to Australian food processors. From handheld gas analysers and leak detection systems through to advanced gas mixing and monitoring solutions, the focus remains on delivering practical tools backed by local technical support.
As MAP adoption continues to expand throughout Australia, SGTA will be helping food manufacturers improve quality assurance, reduce waste and gain greater confidence in every pack they produce.
