Kraft paper portfolio receives compostable certification
Mondi has announced that its portfolio of kraft papers for packaging has been certified as home or industrially compostable.*
The certification underpins Mondi’s MAP2030 (Mondi Action Plan 2030) sustainability commitment to make 100% of its packaging and paper products reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. While recyclability remains the company’s focus to keep fibres in circulation, composting can be a viable option for certain applications, such as those disposed in the biowaste stream.
Made from renewable and certified sources, the product range is designed to meet various industrial packaging requirements, shopping bags and food packaging.
Examples include the Advantage MF EcoComp compostable kraft papers for paper bags for wet organic household waste and the EcoVantage kraft paper, which combines fresh and recycled fibres for food-compliant shopping packaging.
Silvia Hanzelova, Sales Director Speciality Kraft Paper, Mondi, said the certifications illustrate Mondi’s commitment to provide sustainable packaging materials and solutions.
